How practice time works
The browser analyses microphone audio locally. Sustained silence pauses the practice timer; short gaps of up to three seconds are treated as part of playing if music returns. Accompaniment picked up by the microphone also counts as music.
Keep this page visible while practising. Time without monitoring is marked as estimated, not as practice.
Prototype limitations
This prototype uses YAMNet's general music score and a provisional classification threshold. Instrument detection is not used to decide whether the timer runs. The score and thresholds may not match every room, microphone, or style of playing.
